Airport Overview

Tropicalsim’s Antigua is a must-have for flight enthusiasts looking to explore the beautiful island
of Antigua in the Caribbean. This highly detailed rendition of VC Bird International Airport captures
the essence of the region with stunning accuracy. In this 2023 version, you get a completely new
terminal building featuring a fully modelled 3d interior with its accurate layout according to the
real terminal.
The airport, one of the largest in the Leeward Islands, serves over 980,000 passengers annually
and provides connections to more than 50+ destinations worldwide. The scenery includes a
completely new terminal building with a fully modeled 3D interior, offering an immersive and
realistic experience for virtual pilots. At night, the airport comes to life with full illumination and
dynamic lighting, creating a visually captivating atmosphere. Additionally, the functional
animated jetway and seamless integration with SODE, GSX and the ORBX global base pack!

Airport Features

The TROPICALSIM’s Antigua offers amazing features which take advantage of the latest P3D
technologies such as Optional SODE jetway, Full night illumination, Dynamic Lighting, P3D v5/v6
native materials custom ground, Wet ground surface effect for P3Dv5/v6 and much more.
Photo scenery featuring full autogen and seamless blending with the default environment is
included in this scenery which give views of the fantastic approaches as the landmarks of
Antigua which is located not too far from the airport with some amazing island terrain and green
landscapes.

Modelling and Texturing

After carefully examining the terminal and its features, TROPICALSIM have used high quality
textures and have modelled all the major airport buildings with emphasis on high quality texturing
and details of the apron.
Without a doubt, the modelling is of high P3D addon quality, the details included near the main
terminal which shows that TROPICALSIM have put a lot of effort and work into the product and
its features and noticeably on the ground markings and their effects which have a realistic effect
(See Screenshot). have also included a variety of ground vehicles with amazingly high textures
which have been placed around the parking positions features which go flawlessly along with any
ground addon such as GSX.

Final Feedback

For Anyone who is looking to fly into Antigua in P3D. I would highly recommend TROPICALSIM
version for the interesting routes, approaches and views that will be accompanied while landing.
It shows that they have put extensive effort into their version whilst including all the major and
important P3D features such as PBR, custom runway lighting system and Dynamic Lighting
features. I look forward to the next release of the TROPICALSIM version now that P3D v5.4 and v6
are released. I hope that the team will continue push out and hope that they will be able to develop
additional similar airports in this part of the region as there is a shortage in our current market for
high quality Caribbean, US and European airports and it would be lovely to see major rarely
developed/created airports get the TROPICALSIM treatment!
