From this moment on Rise of Flight – The First Great Air War is available in a  box (from simMarket) and as direct download (from Aerosoft).
Rise of Flight is the latest in a long list of standalone PC Flight Simulators featuring air combat over the Western Front during the First World War. The best pilots from both sides met in the sky, they were equally matched with machines and conditions not favouring either party. Nothing but the pilot’s skill determined the outcome. You will fly the SPAD XIII, Fokker D.VII, Nieuport 28 and Albatros D.V (with more aircraft to be available later). Each one modelled in great detail and the simulation of the engines and weapons is highly realistic. The world around you is far from a static backdrop to your flights. Over 100.000 km² of highly realistic terrain (including Lille, Cambrai, Reims and Verdun) complemented with a sophisticated weather model, which creates a perfect stage where you will engage the enemy. On the ground you will see the tanks rolling towards the enemy and the trains and trucks that supply the front line. The front line is marked with trenches, explosions and is a dangerous area because of the anti-aircraft guns.
Flight Simulator fans have always appreciated the simplicity of the aircraft and weapons of this period which allowed the pilots to focus on the dog fight and not on the systems. Our Russian friends at neoqb did a remarkable job with this state of the art simulator; Â it shows what is possible on the current PC platform.

Bought it yesterday and after a couple of flight-hours I must say that this is an outstanding product. Graphics is very good – especially the feeling of height and speed is superior to other simulations I know. Flightmodel is probably more realistic than anything I have seen before in the genre and maybe a little too realistic for me sometimes. I need more training.
