Doing much more than its name suggests, the SimLauncher application by Maarten Boelens has become part of many FSX/P3D users’ toolboxes and has now been updated with a new release version, entitled SimLauncherX.
The most obvious change from the previous version is a completely redesigned User Interface, but support has also been added for P3Dv1.x and v2.x, plus additional functionality has been included:
– interactive map
– display, create and modify flight plans
– show .kml/.kmz files on the map
– radio stack
– instruments panel
– scenery.cfg editor
– dll/exe.xml editor
– process monitor
SimLauncherX can be found on Avsim.com (http://library.avsim.net/download.php?DLID=186669) and on Flightsim.com (http://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/fslib.php?do=copyright&fid=182410).

Could we have a review of this software?
I haven’t tried the new version yet, but had the previous version recommended to me as a method of controlling my repaints library and then discovered exactly how much else it did as well.
Looking at the list of improvements/additions, there are a number included that will also be of use to me and put simply, I would thoroughly recommend getting it and trying it for yourself. As Argonox points out as well, it’s free!
Just test it by yourself. It is freeware ;-).
