New products for the weekend

Today’s roundup of new products in the shop across the road at simMarket actually covers two days again – some that didn’t make it into yesterday’s news and the majority from today, so without further ado, we’ll go with one of yesterday’s and Colimata‘s MiG-29 Fulcrum for X-Plane.

Supporting both XP9.7 and XP10 (32&64-bit), Colimata have recreated this veteran of the late Cold-war and Glasnost periods with an English panel and many systems and animations to keep you occupied. The aircraft’s VC includes a radar, clickable checklists and navigational systems amongst other features – check it out here.

Next up, we’ll quickly cover some things that are only new releases in boxed format, so we won’t cover them in too much depth. First we have the Qualitywings B757 from Flight1, a well thought of single-aisle medium haul airliner for FS9 and FSX, while also from Flight1 comes Ideal Flight 10; if you’re getting bored with flying around the same places all the time, definitely check this one out as it may be the answer to your loss of interest in the sim. Finally for the boxed releases, we have two from Orbx, distributed on physical media by Aerosoft. England, probably needs little introduction. it’s had a far from trouble and question-free launch, but it really does make the country look a vastly more realistic than the default scenery! Also, we have West Yellowstone Airport, which sits within the Northern Rocky Mountains base scenery and adds a high altitude challenge to your flying in the region, although you’ll have plenty of runway to play with – Air Force One landed there a while ago.

Simple FSX Missions‘ latest, simply titled “Africa” brings 10 new missions to your FSX installation, ranging from beginner through to expert level and set around the continent, from Egypt to the Congo to Tanzania. You’ll be flying all sizes of aircraft from the Microlight through to the A321, but be advised – Acceleration or Gold is a requirement of the package.

Sanya Phoenix International is Skysoft‘s second venture into FS2004’s China and covers the massive nation’s most southerly civil airport. As the hub of China Hainan airlines, the airport is a fairly busy place and although the details provided give very little information about what is included, there are some very nice screenshots on the product page.

Finally, we have a simulation product with a difference – the latest in a number of simulator locations around Europe to sell tickets through simMarket is Indoor Airlines. If you check out that link, you’ll see a couple of videos, plus more details about their Murcia, Spain, based operation, which uses an OVO-04 sim that you can operate yourself, just for fun or to practice skills for real-world flying.
