Numerous news sources around the world are reporting the sad passing of aviation legend Neil Armstrong at the age of 82, following complications resulting from recent heart surgery.
Although obviously most famous for being the first man to walk on the surface of the moon, Armstrong was also a combat pilot during the Korean War and, after the famous Apollo 11 mission, left NASA for a position teaching aerospace engineering.
Reported in this article at CNN, his family are quoted as saying “For those who may ask what they can do to honor Neil, we have a simple request. Honor his example of service, accomplishment and modesty, and the next time you walk outside on a clear night and see the moon smiling down at you, think of Neil Armstrong and give him a wink.”

I’ll never get to ride in the concorde, nor the space shuttle, and now I never get to shake the hand of the man who first walked on the moon.
