Here’s another racing title that we haven’t mentioned on the Front Page before, but again for our racing sim community readers, there’s another option on the horizon.
Developers Slightly Mad Studios, best known for their less-than-simulation “Shift” and “Shift2” titles for Electronic Arts, are living slightly up to their name by creating a sim which is funded by the community and users not at the end, as usual, but during development. Yesterday, Slightly Mad released Junior Build 144 to their membership, introducing new tracks (“Northampton” – anyone want to guess whether that used to be a USAAF bomber station’s peri track?) and new cars to the bottom level membership while, a day earlier, they published new Hi-Res screenshots of a more classic racing car.
It’ll be interesting to watch how Project CARS fares compared to the more established opposition, all of whom have new builds or new sims in the pipeline. It certainly looks like a contender.
