Fenix Simulations – First Update for Initial MSFS2024 Compatibility

Fenix Simulations has released its first update for initial compatibility with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, enabling customers to install the latest version via the Fenix Installer at no extra cost. This update isn’t a direct port of the MSFS 2020 version but has been rebuilt using the 2024 SDK, leveraging new features like the modular SimObject system and enhanced walk-around mode. However, the compatibility is considered experimental, with known issues such as dim daytime lighting, inconsistent cockpit display brightness, and occasional sound loss. Fenix has set up a community forum for user feedback but won’t process support tickets or refunds for 2024-related issues yet.

Key updates include experimental 4x sim rate support, refined fly-by-wire systems, and an entirely reworked pneumatic airmass temperature simulation for improved realism. Additional changes include enhanced wing flex, updated EFOB calculations, and optimized avionics, along with improvements to the EFB and installer for cross-simulator compatibility. Notably, MSFS 2024 features working wipers and a new glass material showcasing strobe light reflections. Despite the experimental nature of MSFS 2024 support, the update also addresses several bug fixes and performance optimizations for both MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024 users.
