FSexpo 2024 | BlueBird Simulations 787 MSFS Project Announced

At FSExpo 2024, Bluebird Simulations announced the development of a new Boeing 787 Dreamliner for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The announcement, made during their main stage slot, included a short 2-minute teaser video showcasing the aircraft’s exterior modeling, including the GE9X engines, cockpit exterior, and tailplane. CEO Shervin Ahooraei stated that the development of the 787 began in November last year with a separate team, ensuring that the timelines for their Boeing 757 and 767 projects remain unaffected.

The announcement comes just a few months before the release of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, raising questions about whether the 787 will be exclusive to the new platform or available for both MSFS 2020 and 2024, as well as potentially for X-Plane 12. Shervin highlighted that the decision to develop the 787 was driven by community requests, despite initial apprehensions, and emphasized the significant resources dedicated to the project. Further details about the 757 and 767 projects were also shared during the presentation.
