SimWorks Studios edited a new development update on the GA-8 Airvan for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The aircraft recently received its first preview via Stormbirds, and no major issues were found. The development team is focusing on completing the custom tablet, which will also be used in future products like the PC-12. Additionally, work continues on the integrated failures module, which is expected to launch alongside the base aircraft. This added complexity has slightly delayed the release to mid-May, allowing for more thorough testing of the failure systems.
Regarding Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, SWS is actively developing a native version of the Airvan alongside the 2020 version. While a few quirks remain in FS2024 when running the 2020 version, the native 2024 version is already functional and includes additional features, such as support for career mode. Both versions are expected to release around the same time, and customers who purchase the Airvan for MSFS 2020 will receive the FS2024 version for free. The team also announced a break from April 16 to 23, after which further updates on the Airvan and Kodiak 900 for FS2024 will be shared.
