About the Betong Region and the Airport
Betong International Airport is located in Yala, a province in southern Thailand known for its hilly landscapes and tropical environment. The airport is situated approximately 10 kilometers northeast of Betong town, covering an area of 147 hectares.
Construction of the airport began on December 8, 2017, and was completed in early 2020. Officially opened on March 14, 2022, it serves both commercial flights and private charters. It is the 29th airport operated by the Department of Airports in Thailand and has the capacity to handle 800,000 passengers annually.
