Sim Update 1 [1.3.23.0] Now Available | MSFS 2024

Sim Update 1 for MSFS 2024 is here! It brings stability and performance improvements, fixes many bugs (general, backward compatibility, and aircraft-specific), adds the Cessna 185F Skywagon, and optimizes various aircraft systems and avionics.

Here’s a breakdown of the changes:

Stability & Performance

  • Rare crashes during airport generation have been fixed.
  • A crash when selecting a livery after reloading the game has been fixed.
  • A crash when using the “Jump to” function at the beginning of an exam has been fixed.

  • A crash when closing the game during package assembly has been fixed.
  • A crash has been fixed when many avatars meet online.
  • A crash on the Xbox has been fixed that could occur when accessing areas near the antemeridian.
  • Loading times for packages with many individual files have been improved.

General Bug Fixes

  • A problem has been fixed where the controller lost input when the user went into the advanced map filter levels, left the submenu, and then went back in.
  • A problem has been fixed where calling up the world map filter levels sometimes locked the user when switching to another page.
  • It has been fixed that community packages prevented streamed packages with the same name from being found by the sim.
  • Incorrect HUD color (purple/white instead of green) fixed on some aircraft.
  • Scene flickering on the Xbox has sometimes been fixed when memory usage is high.
  • An obscenity check for callsigns and flight numbers has been added in the aircraft configuration.
  • A bug has been fixed where non-selectable aircraft from different systems were not taken into account after assembly/disassembly or after a build package.
  • A problem has been fixed where calling up a “Fixed Camera” in the camera panel caused the camera to switch to the cockpit view when the same panel was opened again.
  • The display range of multiplayer name tags has been set to low.
  • A UI rendering problem of elements outside their frame has been fixed.
  • It has been fixed that Deluxe/Premium/Aviator content was not streamed when the game was first started.
  • The camera panel no longer forces the cockpit view when it is opened.
  • Swapped colors between offline and online friends fixed.
  • Missing music in Legacy Discovery flight activities fixed.
  • It has been fixed that the CLOCK_HOURS/MINUTES_INC/DEC events did not behave as expected.
  • Several time-related issues have been fixed, e.g. that the ZULU/CLOCK SET events did not behave as expected.
  • It has been fixed that the real time was used instead of the flight time when switches were initialized (fixes lighting problems when starting a flight with a sim time that differs from the real time).
  • It has been fixed that community packages in content.xml were duplicated every time they were started. Already existing duplicates will be removed from the file when starting.
  • The screen illumination under heavy cloud cover has been increased.

Backward Compatibility Fixes

  • It has been fixed that the outside light from FS2020 aircraft shone into the cockpit when it was displayed in FS2024.
  • It has been fixed that the wrong font was selected when XML instrument elements were rendered.
  • Forced 2024 SimVar AMBIENT LIGHT SENSOR to return a very high value when requested by a 2020 Sim (can happen when referencing an instrument that has been updated in 2024).
  • It has been fixed that textures referenced in FX files were not loaded correctly when the package was streamed.
  • Emission brightness fixed.

Aircraft

  • New aircraft: the Cessna 185F Skywagon from Carenado.
  • The grouping of 2020 aircraft with an empty icao_model in the Aircraft Selector/Configurator has been improved.

Marketplace

  • The marketplace will be available soon. The final adjustments are being made to ensure that it meets everyone’s expectations.
