SimWorks Studios Update: PC-12 Release, Airvan Progress, and FS2024 Preparations

SimWorks Studios (SWS) shared an exciting development update, starting with the highly anticipated release of the PC-12. After a delay caused by some final bug fixes, the PC-12 is now locked for release this Wednesday. SWS also mentioned their participation in Twotone Murphy’s recent stream, highlighting the team’s commitment to more direct community engagement in the future.

The GA-8 Airvan is nearing completion, with just a few days of work remaining before it enters the release candidate phase. Alongside final testing, the team is preparing a detailed product manual and a separate payware failure simulation module. Features of the Airvan include a highly detailed exterior, analog cockpit with dynamic animations, and a unique system of visual wear and tear over time. The failure module adds realistic wear and tear to various mechanical and electrical components, requiring pilots to diagnose and address potential issues dynamically. The Airvan is designed to meet FS2024 standards, and SWS is already working on porting the aircraft to the new simulator.

SWS expects the base Airvan to be ready for live previews next week, with a release window anticipated by the end of February. They highlighted advanced features such as deforming tires, realistic cockpit vibrations, and an authentic sound set recorded from a real GA-8. The failure module includes systems like oil filter blockages, electrical failures, and tire/brake wear, offering pilots an immersive experience. With the recent completion of other projects, SWS is moving quickly to finalize and showcase the Airvan and its impressive features.
