29Palms has announced their first scenery developed specifically for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024: Chania International Airport (LGSA). This will be a completely new build, not an update to the existing MSFS 2020 version (published by Aerosoft), which was originally a port from Prepar3D and lacked the level of detail 29Palms aims for.
The developers promise a significant improvement in visual fidelity and accuracy. Key features of the new LGSA scenery include highly detailed 3D models of airport structures, a redesigned and accurate airport parking layout, and a detailed interior model of the passenger terminal. It also includes completely new ground textures and polygons, and an enhanced representation of the surrounding area with additional buildings and refined vegetation placement.
29Palms has stated that this new scenery reflects their team’s high standards for quality and takes full advantage of the capabilities of MSFS 2024. The expected release window is Summer 2025. The announcement also indicates that this is the first of several planned Greek island airport sceneries for the platform. Further details and updates will be provided as development progresses.
