TFDi Design has shared updates on the ongoing development of the MD-11 for MSFS, PACX, and smartCARS, highlighting recent advancements across their products. While much of the work on the MD-11 has been behind the scenes, they are focusing heavily on refining its sound package with the assistance of Echo 19. This new sound overhaul introduces fresh interior recordings, volume adjustments for mechanical sounds, and pack sound enhancements within the cabin, aiming for a more immersive and realistic auditory experience.
The latest MD-11 sound updates, now available to users, bring additional refinements, including sound localization improvements where cockpit sounds are no longer audible in the cabin, corrected APU sound positioning, and enhanced ground roll and wind audio effects. These adjustments, largely specific to Microsoft Flight Simulator, focus on delivering an improved stereo balance and overall sound quality, with TFDi eager to receive feedback from users as they experience these new updates.
TFDi’s art team has been diligently working on an exterior overhaul for the MD-11, with artist Ozzy meticulously refining the model. This update has taken more time than anticipated, as Ozzy has focused on enhancing physical details across the model, addressing incorrectly shaped parts, and adding missing ports and other small components for heightened realism. The revised model also includes improvements in detail and mapping quality. Once Ozzy’s work is complete, the model will move to Cameron and Miguel, who will apply updated paint and texture work to bring a polished finish to this visual upgrade.
