It’s located close to Funchal, the main city of the Madeira Island. Known for its challenging approach, the airport features a 2 781 meters long runway partially extended over the ocean, supported by concrete pillars.
Handling more than 4.8 million travellers annually, LPMA is an important access point for visitors and plays a vital role in connecting Madeira to Europe and beyond.
