Just Flight – A300B4 MSFS Dev Update

Just Flight has released a new development update for their A300B4 Professional for Microsoft Flight Simulator, focusing on the lower engineer’s panel, also known as the Command 3 (CM3) position. This panel, at first glance, appears complex with numerous switches, dials, and lights, but is actually well-organized and logical when broken down by system. The update introduces the layout of the panel, highlighting various systems like electrical power, bleed air, and engine parameter monitoring, along with the different color-coded annunciator lights for system status.

The left side of the CM3 station contains the electrical power panel, which is organized schematically with engine and APU generators at the bottom and DC systems at the top. It also includes battery switches, external power gauges, and constant speed drive oil temperature dials. The center section houses secondary engine parameters, with additional gauges for engine vibration. Meanwhile, the right side features a large air bleed system panel that tracks the flow of bleed air from engines to air conditioning packs, with gauges for monitoring temperatures and pressures.

Aesthetically, the developers have paid great attention to detail, using PBR technology to create realistic wear and tear, along with sharp, accurate decals and integral lighting. The update emphasizes the effort to capture the look of a well-maintained, yet used aircraft, showcasing the level of fidelity expected from the final product. The next development update will cover the upper engineer’s panel.
