Classic Aircraft Simulations has released an update for the CAS Piper J-3 Cub in Microsoft Flight Simulator, introducing the EDO1320 straight float variant in version 1.1.0. This update also improves ground handling at higher speeds for the wheeled version, enhancing the realism and dynamism of takeoffs and landings. The aircraft now offers a more lifelike experience with features such as a hand-prop start procedure, engine oil consumption, and engine damage and failure simulations.
Additional features include a physics-based animation system, a bespoke MSFS CFD flight model, and aircraft state/condition persistence. The Piper J-3 Cub comes with a variety of aircraft options, landing gear failure on hard landings, compact hideable custom avionics, and a tablet for aircraft settings and configuration. Enhanced vibration and camera movement effects, synchronized high dynamic range engine sounds, and animated passengers add to the immersive experience. Other notable features are interactive refueling, custom visual effects, and auto-installation and updates via the SIMMARKET app.
