PMDG – 777-300ER MSFS – Showcase 2 The Universal Tablet MSFS

There will be an updated Universal Flight Tablet for the PMDG 777-300ER in Microsoft Flight Simulator, and it introduces several enhancements based on user feedback from the 737 version. One of the most significant improvements is the ability to place the tablet in three or four locations within the cockpit. This includes a new option where pilots can hold the tablet close to the CDU (Central Display Unit) to enter or check data, referred to as the “Thing” position. Additionally, there’s a storage location under the tiller tray for when the tablet is not needed.

The tablet now features an updated map that displays the complete flight route with waypoints, color-coded for each stage of the flight. This functionality allows pilots to monitor their flight progress effectively, even without a Navigraph Charts account. A new vertical profile display has also been added, providing a comprehensive view of the aircraft’s altitude changes throughout the flight, which is particularly useful for flight planning and situational awareness.

Another significant addition is the Ground Connections page, which allows pilots to manage the various vehicles required to prepare the aircraft for the next flight. This includes handling ground operations such as refueling, catering, and baggage handling. The page provides a visual overview of these vehicles and their statuses, streamlining the pre-flight preparation process. The Automated Ground Ops turn around system further assists in ensuring the aircraft is ready for departure in a timely manner.

The updated tablet also includes modules for ground maintenance and performance calculations. The Ground Maintenance module enables pilots to service specific systems on the aircraft, ensuring everything is in optimal condition. The Performance module, while largely unchanged, continues to offer critical functions such as landing calculations. These enhancements collectively improve the functionality and user experience of the Universal Flight Tablet, making it an indispensable tool for virtual pilots operating the PMDG 777-300ER.
