SimWorks Studios has released the latest update, version 1.2.6, for their Pilatus PC-12/47 aircraft in Microsoft Flight Simulator, available on SIMMARKET. This update brings a slew of visual improvements to both the exterior and interior of the aircraft. Externally, the team has optimized draw calls, fixed decal placements, and revised textures for better bump mapping. They’ve also addressed issues like backwards propeller rotation and exhaust positioning. Internally, the update includes material cleanup, corrections to decal artifacts, and adjustments to various elements such as baggage shelves, netting, and interior lighting. Additionally, cockpit enhancements include fixes to the whiskey compass animation and the addition of clickspots to toggle passenger visibility in different cabin configurations.
On the avionics front, all systems have been updated to the latest source code version, ensuring improved functionality and bug fixes. Specific avionics enhancements include the addition of start-up and warm-up timers for the EFIS50, synchronized autopilot indications, and adjustments to the altimeter and GPS annunciators. System improvements span across engine operations, autopilot functionality, EGPWS/TAWS alerts, and trim control, with fixes and adjustments made to enhance realism and accuracy in simulated flight operations.
Flight dynamics have also undergone significant adjustments in this update. Changes to engine configurations include modifications to efficiency tables and propeller settings, while flight_model.cfg adjustments focus on flap drag, steering parameters for ground handling, and improvements to yaw stability. These modifications aim to enhance the realism of the aircraft’s behavior during flight and on the ground, providing a more immersive experience for virtual pilots.
