The weekend is coming and we have another flight idea for you. This time we will be flying over one of the most beautiful countries in Asia, Sri Lanka. For this flight we will go low and slow using the good old Piper Warrior II from Just Flight. We will fly coast to coast departing from VCPU and flying over to the east coast where we will land on Batticaloa Air Base (VCCB). On final, we will enjoy the sights of the Batticaloa Lagoon.
However, that is not the apex of our trip. Around halfway across the country, we will be stopping at Sigirya Airport (VCCS).
1Sigiriya is an ancient rock fortress located in the northern Matale District near the town of Dambulla in the Central Province. It is a site of historical and archaeological significance that is dominated by a massive column of granite rock approximately 180 m (590 ft) high. Sigiriya is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Sri Lanka. The fortress is known for its well-preserved ruins and its unique setting on a massive rock.
