Microsoft released a short teaser trailer for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, the next generation of the popular franchise. They apologize for the delayed communication and address some common questions after the surprising announcement.
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 will be a standalone sequel and will support current aircraft, airports, and add-ons from Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. They will continue to provide support and updates for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 even after the launch of the new simulator. Most of your MSFS add-ons will be transferable to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 without the need for repurchasing.
The previous announcements for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, and mentioned in their development roadmap are all maintained : “Aircraft and Avionics Updates, Sim Updates, City and World Updates, and also the free Dune DLC” wrote Microsoft in their Official FAQ that you can read here.
