That is very cool!
It’s funny, I used to see like 17″ displays in my fellow simmer’s cockpits filled with gauges thinking how unrealistic that looked. Looking at the 787 pit seems that’s not the case anymore. Maybe they got the idea from us simmers, ha!
He he I don’t know if it comes from simmers ! My guess is that it enables more informations displayed, and enhancing visibility of the whole at the same time. Second is that actual screens technology, size and reliability make it possible. Last, it enables more freedom in gauges arrangement and modules displays to fit possible differences in airlines requirements.
