Epic Air Bites The Dust

In an article on AVweb we can read that Epic has gone bankrupt and is now up for sale. A Chinese company and two American groups made a bid for the remnants, and so far the Chinese are the favorites. Looks like soon we can only fly Bill Ortis’s Epics here, unless we import whatever the Chinese plan to make of it. The news release says that China plans to move all facilities to China.

  1. It is a very sad time. Epic Aircraft were a modern ‘American Dream’. They buffeted giant manufacturers with their new, sleek, modern aircraft designs. If only they could have made it…

  2. Hey Francois,

No worries Sir. I posted the latest news from Bend Oregon. The Judge gave the LT to the team in Bend. The rest of the package I believe is going to China, but the LT section of the company stays with the original group of owners that were the first to save the company. So that is good news. The LT will remain American and the Chinese must request LT things from them. I guess the Jets and other projects (hold the Navy contract) are going to China..
