The Heritage Flight Museum in Washington has set up a special site for their upcoming Warbird Weekend in Bellingham this June. “…..1 June 2010 marks the 70th anniversary of the dedication of the Bellingham airport and thus presents the Heritage Flight Museum with the unique opportunity to bring the community’s aviation history to light. Our hope is to recreate Bellingham’s post-WWII aviation events that showcased the commercial, civilian and military aircraft of the time, and to commemorate the 66th anniversary of D-Day…..”. “…… The aircraft of that era are not as common now as they were then, so we’ll need a lot of support to bring in some of the rarer birds! This will be a rare opportunity to see history come alive and take to the skies. Join us as we celebrate the early days of Bellingham’s aviation history!….”.
