The Solution to last weeks Quiz!

Remember last weeks quiz titled ‘If you build it, I buy it. OK, if you buy it, I build it.’ ?  Then you  have a better memory then i do… a reader reminded us to publish the solution and of course we are doing that now.

So, the question was what this dialog means for aviation history: ‘If you build it, I buy it! Ok, if you buy it, I build it’  and the explanation is that in the Summer of 1965 Juan Trippe, CEO of Pan American World Airlines and William Allen, president of Boeing were having this conversation about developing a large (read largest) airliner. The result of their chat was to become the Boeing 747 Jumbo Jet, the largest aircraft to fly scheduled passenger flights for quite some decades.
