In a maybe somewhat unorthodox message, Francois Dumas, owner and creative director of FSAddon Publishing, welcomes an increasing number of ‘customers’ on his site, coming from the Pirate Bay and torrent sites, apparently to find out what they have just stolen.
“… We noticed a sudden increase in hits coming from those ‘sharing’ sites, most notably from the Pirate Bay, and I thought I might as well address the issue – and the offenders – head on..,” Francois says. “… Interesting fact is that one of the four Pirate Bay founders is giving up apparently (see this article). Three of the four had been convicted to a year in jail already and the site is supposedly being bought soon by yet another Swedish company. We know we can’t stop this, but maybe it helps explaining a little bit about the people those ‘customers’Â are actually stealing from.
We all feel the pinch of the recession, in many ways, but that is no reason to steal from your neighbor, your boss or your favorite software developers….”.

I’m working for a company which utilizies a service that monitors filesharing networks for copyright violations.
Users data is tracked and the IPs are submitted to the ISPs, who in return give the service the contact data of the offenders.
Afterwards individual notices are sent by the lawyers.
From the money gained by these notices our company can absorb the losses suffered from copyright violations.
Sebastian, what the company’s name?
I’d like to hire them.
The name of the company is DigiProtect – http://www.digiprotect.org/
You can find their contact data there. They have lots of US customers (mainly from Adult industry) so they are familiar with how things work in the US. Good luck!
Just do some research before getting involved:

Raises some interesting questions, not in the least just who benefits by “Turning piracy into profits”…
