From hundreds of commercial FS Add-on releases of the past year we have selected those 100, in 10 categories with each 10 products, that we believe to represent the best of the year based on criteria like innovation, technology, presentation and passion among developers and their user base.
But what makes the simFlight Awards so special in the FS industry is the fact that it is UP TO YOU, the FS USER, to make the final choice and decide which products really deserve the simFlight 2008 AWARDS.

The results of your vote will be unveiled at the winning ceremony to be held on October 25th during the Captains Dinner at the Annual German Flight Sim Conference in Paderborn, Germany and shortly afterwards online on this site.

If you are, you might have noticed that the menu bar with the drop down menus is not working like it should. To overcome this, simply press “Alt”-”T”on your keyboard and click on “Compatibility View Settings”. And just add “simflight.com” to the list and restart IE8.
Now the menus should be working fine.

…… that nowadays you can CLICK your mouse on the thumbnail picture to the left of our articles, and get an enlarged view of the picture? (Well, with most of them, you don’t want to see my head enlarged…..). Did you also know that all comments are emailed to us when posted? That’s a good thing, so we can indicate some of them as SPAM with a flick of the switch. (There are two ‘gentlemen’ out there trying to harm simMarket, simFlight and your hobby…. and that apparently is THEIR hobby….). We can now easily protect you from their drivel. Did you also know that the availability of FSX titles finally seems on the rise? Scroll back through our last coupe of weeks of news a bit…. Have a nice Sunday!

Some may have trouble reaching www.simmarket.com and the simFlight sites today. The problem is actually fixed but it takes some time for the new IP settings to be propagated around the world.

What happened?: Last week we started to move simMarket to shiny new servers (quad core, 4GB Ram… all the nice things)  and we wanted to work in the background without any disruption of services, we did not want it to be noticeable to the customers. We managed to actually switch one server like this already 10 days ago and are in the process of moving the second one right now. And this is when the trouble started. Read the rest of this entry »

You may not have noticed, but with the new lay-out of simFlight we have also re-opened the possibility for you to add comments. That way you can help authors of products, or even - gasp! - the editors of your favorite FS news site improve the products. Another new option is to send us NEWS by inserting it yourself. See the CONTRIBUTE tab along the top of this page. Of course we will edit news posts to make them fit the general lay-out and policies. Be more active, join in on simFlight activities !

SimFlight’s HQ is located in The Netherlands, as you may know, and we’re having some freak weather here. Temperatures have gone up to 32C inside the office (that’s 89 F for you colonials) and that is NOT something we’re really used to. Not a problem for my Florida friends, but here PC’s are running hot and so is your’s truly. If you don’t hear from us anymore today…….. !!
