Austin Meyers, the creator of X-Plane, has invented yet another new toy for his customers. He calls it ‘X-plane REMOTE’ and writes  “…… X-Plane REMOTE is a cool little app for you iphone that lets your iphone act as a joystick for x-plane! it also acts as an external cockpit, and a moving map!

With x-plane remote, you can simply establish a wireless connection between your computer and your iphone (if you computer has an airport, you do not even need a LAN! the iphone can connect right to your computer wirelessly via airport!) to use your iphone as a joystick or external panel……”. A number of people throughout the ‘games’ population have received a survey from Microsoft Games Studios, asking ‘waht would you like to see in a flight simulator GAME’ (capitals by the editor.). The questions asked there seem to hint into the (expected) direction of a game, indeed, and most likely aimed to run on the new Windows Live platform. For some reason *cough* the FS press has not received it (yet), nor do we have any reports yet from the developers communities.

Part 2 of the stand-alone subway simulator by Aerosoft is out. “…. With a coverage of 31.8 km (19,8 miles) and 40 stations the U7 is not only the longest of all Berlin subway lines but also the line with the most stations and the longest journey time.

Built from 1924 to 1984 this large profile line runs completely underground, through a total of 5 districts of the German capital and even goes underneath the rivers Spree and Havel as well as the Teltow and the Westhafen canal….”.

Vehicle Simulator has now appeared on simMarket too. SimMarket added two more ‘trains’ products to its long list of add-ons. German Trains – Part 2 Baureihe 151 (Series 151) is designed for the Kuju Rail Simulator and adds 5 new locs for the Hagen-Siegen route. The other title is also from German Trains but this one is for the MS Train Simulator. Baureihe 143 contains 20 new locs and 18 new missions and replaces all previous 143 locs of the same developers. The latter title is in German language only.
