Some things go well above my pretty little head, but I know what I see. And I know what I like. And the Outerra terrain engine definitely has potential. Ernesto Gomez Ruiz builds expansion packs for the IL-2 combat simulator. His latest is Iwo Jima and Okinawa 1945. “…. This expansion recreates the battles fought between the American and Japanese troops in 1945. Included are 1 USN campaigns, 1 USMC campaign, 82 campaigns missions, 186 singles/cooperative missions USN/USMC. A total of 268 missions…”. IL-2 Sturmovik is a prerequisite! According to their press release it “…… will bring several important features. Flight recording and playback system was added to the game. It is a new instrument to record and playback in-game videos. Users can record and playback their own videos using lots of various in-game cameras. System records not only the player’s actions, but everything that surrounds him during the flight. More information can be found on the official site…..”.
