Dino Cateano of Italy is working on a new project for FSX:Accelleration: the T-45C Goshawk. “….. The scope of the project is to provide a reasonable simulation of the BAe/Boeing T-45C Goshawk jet trainer, a heavyly modified and carrier-capable version of the BaE Hawk, currently employed by U.S. Navy to train naval aviator candidates to strike and carrier operations…..”.

Not only our simulated aircraft fly…. time flies as well!! So here’s a reminder to pencil in the dates of November 1 and 2, to attend the world’s best flight simulator event, the Dutch FSWeekend in Lelystad. After Oshkosh this is easily the largest event for flight(sim) enthusiasts with yearly more than 5000 visitors during the two days! Here’s a (growing) list with exhibitors.


A Small Fix For The Lionheart Epic

Bill Ortis of Lionheart Creations Ltd. has posted a small ‘fix’ on his website for his latest release, the wonderful Epic LT / Dynasty. The code can be found near the end of his web page and needs to be put in the aircraft.cfg file, replacing the original code. It will stop the ‘bobbing’ on hitting the brakes. There are some more tips on his page too! The Epic can be purchased at simMarket of course.


Integrated Simavionics Group 1 (ISG1) 1.5 upgrade released

Ernie Alston and simMarket report: “This upgrade integrates a A300-A310 style Navigation, an MD11/B717 style Navigation Display, and Collins Proline4 style MultiFunction display. All ISG1 gauges can be selectively mixed and matched into the aircraft/panel of your choice. This update also provides fixes for some minor reported issues.

Carenado To Start A Completely FSX Compatible Series

Carenado announced that they are going to fully embrace the FSX technology. Fernando Herrera of Carenado said: “Due to some incompatibility issues with some aircraft with SP2/AP, the company decided to develop again its  complete fleet from zero to be full FSX and DX10 compatible. Each new development will be a separate package specially developed for FSX and DX10 and will have all the new amazing effects and features only achievable with FSX and DX10 .

PRE-Flight RC Simulator Goes Into Orbit

SpaceShipTwo CarrierPRE-Flight announced the release of their SpaceShipTwo carrier aircraft “Eve”. PRE-Flight make Radio Control Simulators so that you can practice and hone your flying skills at home. Here is what they say about this freeware addon: “Download and fly this free PRE-Flight model which commemorates the launch of “Eve” - the first of a fleet of carrier aircraft which will be used to launch the SpaceShipTwo spacecraft.
One of the unique design features incorporates a “simulator” into one of the twin hulls. The hull is laid out exactly like the SpaceShipTwo and will be used for space tourist training which includes a few seconds of weightlessness.

This model is for PRE-Flight version 2.10 and higher.”

PMDG’s MD-11 In Beta

Robert Randazzo, the owner of PMDG, announced that their latest project, the MD-11, has now gone in Beta. He also states that he doesn’t expect this beta to be very long, unlike previous beta’s. They are developing separate models for FSX (to be released first) and FS9 and pricing will be similar as their current products. No release dates yet, but plenty of wonderful screenshots here.

FranceVFR Flight Series Collection Packs

FranceVFR released two of its earlier titles as ‘collection packs’ on simMarket. Flight MediterranĂ©e is the first one, comprised of base pack AND Autogen pack and covering the ENTIRE Mediterranean coast of France, including a lot of airfields. The other one is Flight Pyrenees Orientales, covering the mountain region in the south, again with Base Pack and Autogen Pack combined! All are for FS2004 and FSX.

Up and running for some time already is the completely renewed MS Trains web site from Microsoft. Here you can read all about their new and upcoming sequel to the fisr MSTrains title. On Phil Taylor’s blog we have read that MS Trains 2 is slated for a Holidays 2009 release (that’s jargon for Christmas 2009 for non-American readers). In the same sentence he also made a quip about FS11….. go read and figure it out for yourself!
