Bill Womack, our ‘Chief Designer’ at FSAddon Publishing has published some of his secrets in the form of a tutorial. Just a quick reminder to anyone that might be interested that the second Flight and Train Simulation Show is taking place in Birmingham, UK this weekend.

Located at Think Tank, Millennium Point, near Birmingham City Centre, the show is open from 0900 to 1500 this Saturday, 8th November 2008. Further details are available on the event’s website, here.

New data is available for X-Plane. This is data cycle 2008.10 and includes many new global airport details, including updates for North America (eg.CYEG, KRAL, KORS, KOAK, KLSV, etc), Poland, Russia, and an updated EHAM. Different versions of the data files are available for X-Plane 8.10 - 8.60 and for X-Plane 8.61 and later (including the latest release, X-Plane 9.20). Gary Summons, known for his many detailed sceneries has released his Heathrow Xtreme scenery over at simMarket.com. Heathrow Airport is the busiest international airport in the world and this scenery is certainly the most challening scenery UK2000 scenery has ever made. This scenery is compatible with FS9. The FSX version is announced for January 2009.

The headset is designed to closely resemble the headset real pilots wear but with one exception: they can easily be connected to your computer using the standard 3.5mm audio connectors for the headphones and the microphone. Bryan York of FS2Crew writes “…… To meet the demands of its European and UK customer base, FS2Crew has appointed Kimmo Kyle of Finland as head of the FS2Crew International Voice Set Development Team. Kyle’s role will be to develop, coordinate and manage the European and British voice sets for FS2Crew products, starting with the newly release PMDG MD-11 Version of FS2Crew.
