Jörg Dannenberg from Flightport mentions the Version 2.01 of Helipack is now available for download. This is scenery for helicopters made by the ICARO team and Jörg Hammes. The package is a hefty 290 Mb to download, and only available for FS2004.. so far. Check out the Flightport web site here.

Fabrice Erdinger of France has released a small freeware utility called Lucifer. The devilish name has to do with the purpose of the utility; to allow technical problems to be simulated in your FS aircraft (FS2004 and FSX). Fabrice hosts the software on his CyberAvia web site where you can download it for free. If you like it, send him a postcard ! You’ll need to read some French in order to download and install it.

Today we got word from the legendary Dino Cattaneo, creator of a very successful F14 Tomcat freeware add-on, that his latest project, a freeware Boeing/Bae T-45C Goshawk, has been released today to several FS add-on libraries. The model features state-of-the-art graphics, a highly detailed virtual cockpit, a stable flight model and Acceleration compatibility. The Accelleration package is required for HUD,MFD,sound and carrier operations to work. For more information on this and his next project, be sure to check out his blog.

Håkon Søreide of AFG - AlliedFsGroup announced the release of the AFG Caravelle today. He writes: “After many years in the making, it’s our pleasure to offer the Sud Aviation Caravelle III for download. The initial release is for FS2004 only. For the moment no FSX release is planned. The 3D model is highly detailed with all the animations you’ve come to expect. The aircraft also features a working 3D brake chute, as found on early generation Caravelles. No VC is offered, but a highly realistic panel differing in version according to the operator featured.For the moment the aircraft has only been posted for download at Avsim.com but will be put up for download at our own website soon.”

Don Grovestine has released his freeware CYYJ 2008 Victoria airport (to be found on the major freeware libraries), which fits the wonderful Victoria+ freeware product by Jon Patch. As Don writes “…..It is compatible with UTX - Canada (FSX), with UT Canada/Alaska and several other FS9 add-ons including Victoria+, and VIVA Base, but none are required.
