Håkon Søreide of AFG - AlliedFsGroup announced the release of the AFG Caravelle today. He writes: “After many years in the making, it’s our pleasure to offer the Sud Aviation Caravelle III for download. The initial release is for FS2004 only. For the moment no FSX release is planned. The 3D model is highly detailed with all the animations you’ve come to expect. The aircraft also features a working 3D brake chute, as found on early generation Caravelles. No VC is offered, but a highly realistic panel differing in version according to the operator featured.For the moment the aircraft has only been posted for download at Avsim.com but will be put up for download at our own website soon.”

Don Grovestine has released his freeware CYYJ 2008 Victoria airport (to be found on the major freeware libraries), which fits the wonderful Victoria+ freeware product by Jon Patch. As Don writes “…..It is compatible with UTX - Canada (FSX), with UT Canada/Alaska and several other FS9 add-ons including Victoria+, and VIVA Base, but none are required. Fermin Fernandez of Australia reports that “…….. FSWidgets has released a third edition of the GMap for FSX freeware moving map system. This latest incarnation of GMap - the Garmin Edition - utilizes a Garmin 530 background or “skin” for those who prefer GMap in this particular “flavour”. GMap is a free, stand-alone application that plots your FSX aircraft position on Google Maps. It can also be used as a module for EFBFSX (Electronic Flight Bag for FSX) which optionally adds this function to its map page. To download GMap please go here……”.

Ron Shani informs us of the availability of two Israeli sceneries he has created for FSX, namely the airport and city of Haifa LLHA and the Dead Sea, where you can fly along its shores, salt pools, surrounding mountains and canyons.

Ron has made two movies illustrating his work and those can be seen on his site. Both sceneries are freeware and available at Ron’s site: CLICK.

Hi folks out there! Right now the VAS project group released yet another public testversion (2.0 alpha 7) of vasFMC.

As many people were hoping, this release also contains the MS FS2004 gauge version plus customized versions of the Project Airbus A319 and A320 models including the vasFMC gauge integrated into the Ken Mitchel Airbus panel. Additionally there is also a great new HTML documentation available for vasFMC 2.0. Its not fully complete yet but nevertheless a must for the new release.
