My son Chris who is a PC Game Concept Artist hand-painted the (very) Vargas inspired nose-art "Mistress". I did modify the scheme a year ago, so now it has 357th FG paintjob with code B6-4 (see: www.tomair.dk). 357th FG DID have L-4s, but I have been unable to prove that they did in june 1944. I have only seen pictures of silver ones from 1945. However I thought that it would look good (!), and I also wanted to honour triple ace and extremely nice gentleman Col. "Bud" Andersson whom I have met twice, latest at Gathering of Mustangs and Legends at Rickenbacker, OH in Sept. 2007 where he took time for a long chat with me when I presented him a print of my sons painting of 357th FG ace Lt. William C. Reece (KIA) flying P-51B C5-F "Bear River Bets" (see Chris' website: www.conceptartist.dk). Once again: Impressive L-4 details. Keep up the good work guys! Sincerely TOM Dear Chris!
